Scheduled Steam Trains

Ferrocarrils de la Generalitat de Catalunya offers the possibility of taking a return trip on an historical steam train from Martorell-Enllaç to Monistrol de Montserrat. As well as the train journey, there are also other activities. At the departure station of Martorell-Enllaç, visitors can see the exhibition: “FGC: a century and a half of history” where the evolution of the railway in Catalonia is documented and visitors can also attend a projection of the films “History of the Railway” and “History of the Steam Train”, especially for children. Visitors taking part in these activities will be met by hostesses who will travel with them throughout the journey.

As well as giving out the tickets, they will present the children travelling on the train with a diploma. The children’s entertainment group Vinclets will give a performance representing stories and figures from the past related to the Steam Train.

The train has an engine, a saloon car and four restored wooden carriages. On arrival at Monistrol de Montserrat, visitors can watch the change of direction manoeuvres and the replenishing of the water supply of the locomotive. There is a special children’s play area.

Timetable:
10:00 to 10:30. Reception by the hostesses and presenting of tickets and diplomas.
10:30 to 11:15. Performance by the Entertainment Group.
11:20. Departure by train to Monistrol de Montserrat.
12:40. Return trip to Martorell –Enllaç.
13:25 (approx.) Arrival at Martorell –Enllaç and end of journey.
