FGC Tickets.
Ferrocarrils de la Generalitat de Catalunya (FGC) offers two types of senior citizen cards, that offers several advantages:
1. For people of 65 or over with no pension income (proof of which must be provided by presentation of a Social Security certificate) or with a pension income of less than the current minimum guaranteed interprofessional wage (€600/month - €8.400/year).
2. For people under 65 who have a degree of disability of 33% or over, proof of which must be provided by presentation of Institut Català d’Assistència i Serveis Socials (ICASS- Catalan Institute of Care and Social Services) certification, a pension income of less than the current minimum guaranteed interprofessional wage (€600/month - €8.400/year), or no pension of any type (proof of which must be provided by presentation of a certificate from the Social Security or similar organisation).
1. For people of 65 or over with pension income equal to or over the current minimum guaranteed interprofessional wage (€600/month - €8.400/year).
2. For people under 65 with a degree of disability of 33% or over, proof of which must be provided by presentation of Institut Català d’Assistència i Serveis Socials (ICASS- Catalan Institute of Care and Social Services) certification, and pension income over the current minimum guaranteed interprofessional wage (€600/month - €8.400/year).
Required documentation
• Pensioner’s card application form, which may be obtained from any FGC station agent.
• Photocopy of National Identity Document
• Photocopy of notification of pension improvement or certificate from the Institut Nacional de la Seguretat Social (INSS- National Social Security Institute) for type-A cards only.
• Photocopy of disability certificate from the Institut Català d’Assistència i Serveis Socials (ICASS), if applicable.
• Proof of payment by bank. Payment of the currently applicable price must be made through Servicaixa of “la Caixa” or at the Customer Service Centre. Proof of payment must by attached to the application form and submitted to any FGC station agent or sent by post in the postage paid enveloped issued with the application form.
• A National Identity Document and proof of payment by bank must be presented to renew type B cards.
The card will be sent directly to the address indicated in the personal details featured on the application form.
Conditions for use:
• This card is personal and non-transferable. It is not valid for travel unless accompanied by the respective transport ticket.
• The interested party must show his or her National Identity Document as proof of identity whenever asked to do so by FGC staff.
• It entitles the holder to:
- Free travel with the Pensioner’s Card and Pass A or free travel upon purchase of Pensioner’s Card B, on journeys between Pl. Catalunya-Reina Elisenda-Av. Tibidabo-Les Planes (including the Vallvidrera funicular), on the Barcelona-Vallès line, and between Pl. Espanya-Molí Nou, on the FGC Llobregat-Anoia line.
- Travel at a 75% discount with Pensioner’s Card A or at a 50% discount with Pensioner’s Card B on journeys between Les Planes-Terrassa-Sabadell, on the Barcelona-Vallès line, and between Santa Coloma de Cervelló-Manresa-Igualada, including the Olesa-Esparreguera cable car, on the FGC Llobregat-Anoia line.
- Travel with a 10% discount on single or return tickets on the Montserrat rack railway and funiculars and on the Núria rack railway, and on return tickets on the Gelida funicular.
- Purchase a return ticket for the Montserrat Train+rack railway at a discount.
• Improper or fraudulent use of the card may prompt its withdrawal.
• From expiry of the pensioner’s card to receipt of a new card, the corresponding transport ticket will be issued upon presentation of this receipt of payment.
